If you are interested in history, architecture and landscape while travelling in Poland, Pawłowiczki offers several specific points of interest. The town’s history is linked to the settlement of the Moravian Church, or Bohemian Brethren; there is also a parish church with a long building history, a historic park and notable historic buildings. These can be explored as different facets of the town, rather than being presented as a single experience. There is also a named starting point in Pawłowiczki for a cycling tour.

Moravian Church history in several stages
The history of Pawłowiczki is linked to the settlement of the Moravian Church, or Bohemian Brethren, beginning in early 1766. Another important date is 1780: the final building phase of today’s village took place then, as a colony on the Warmuntowice estates. It was an evangelical settlement of craftsmen, laid out around a square.
The two dates represent different stages: early 1766 marks the beginning of the settlement, while 1780 dates the final building phase of today’s village. The square is also part of this historical account. Anyone interested in the development of settlements can therefore discover Pawłowiczki not only through individual buildings, but also through this chronological and spatial context.
Another historical point of interest is the former courthouse, one of Pawłowiczki’s notable historic buildings. The word “former” describes its previous function; it is one of the buildings that adds to the picture of the town’s architectural heritage.
Parish church and architectural details
The parish church of St Andrew and St James was built in 1782–1783. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was expanded using Baroque forms. Its building history thus spans both the late 18th century and a later expansion that further shaped the church’s architecture.
Its location is also a distinctive landmark for finding your way around town: the church stands on a small hill in the northeast of Pawłowiczki. Tombstones from the 19th century are set into the inner wall of its enclosure. The construction date, later expansion, location and tombstones are different aspects of the same ensemble—from the development of the church building to details of its enclosure.
Pawłowiczki’s centre is also home to the Adam Mickiewicz Monument, near the municipal office. This provides another clearly named point of reference alongside the church, helping visitors orient themselves among the town’s buildings and monuments.
Historic park and cycling route
The historic park was established in 1830. It is distinguished by numerous interesting species of rare vegetation. The park adds a landscape dimension to Pawłowiczki’s history: the focus here is not on the settlement’s layout or building history, but on the historic origins of the grounds and their distinctive vegetation.
If you would also like to explore Pawłowiczki by bike, a cycling route starts at the school building on ul. Lipowa. This named starting point gives you a specific reference for planning your ride. Check the current route before setting out. The cycling route, historic buildings and park offer different points of interest to help you shape your stay in Pawłowiczki around your interests.
