Cycling routes around Kluczbork
Two cycling routes offer different distances and sequences of places. The red “Gościnne zagrody” route is 40 km long and passes through Kluczbork, Bąków, Brzezinka, Biadacz, Maciejów and Łowkowice. The yellow “Szlakiem dawnego rzemiosła i pomników przyrody” route covers 44 km and includes Kluczbork, Kuniów, Bażany, Borkowice, Zameczek, Bogacica, Smardy, Krzywizna and Łowkowice. When choosing between them, you can consider both the length and the places listed for each route. There are five cycling routes in the Kluczbork municipality in total. The two routes described here offer a concrete introduction to the subject, though they do not follow the same sequence of places.

Beekeeping at the Jan Dzierżon Museum
The Jan Dzierżon Museum is housed in a former castle listed in the register of monuments. Its permanent exhibition, “Pszczelarstwo dawne i nowe,” covers the history of beekeeping from the earliest times to the present day. A particular focus is on the work and role of Father Dzierżon. This gives you both an overview of how beekeeping has developed and a closer look at the person to whom the museum is dedicated.
An outdoor exhibition at the museum traces the development of beehives, from log hives to box hives. The museum also offers a practical aspect of beekeeping: its regular workshop programme includes workshops on making candles from wax foundation sheets. They are intended for children, young people and adults. The programme therefore caters to several age groups and complements its historical focus with an activity involving bee products.
Culture and architectural history in the municipality
Kluczbork’s town park is also a listed monument: it was entered in the register of monuments in 1976. The town’s sightseeing trail to Kluczbork’s landmarks opened on 13 June 2021. These two facts offer different points of reference for exploring the town’s history and cultural heritage.
In the Kluczbork municipality, the Wooden Churches Trail is a cultural and heritage route. Maciejów is the first stop on this trail through Kluczbork County. The wooden church there was first mentioned as early as 1446. Maciejów is also home to a Neoclassical palace designed by Carl Gotthard Langhans and dating to around 1790. Inside the palace is a collection of Romantic wall paintings from around the turn of the 19th century. The wooden church, palace and wall paintings represent different historical points of interest within the municipality.
Landscape and getting here
Stobrawski Landscape Park extends into the Kluczbork municipality from the Bogacica side. This places the municipality within a wider landscape setting, beyond its cultural attractions. Kluczbork is an important railway junction for travel by train. Connections run on the Katowice–Wrocław and Katowice–Poznań routes, as well as towards Częstochowa and Opole. This is a useful consideration if you are factoring rail travel into your choice of destination.
