Łącko on Lake Wicko: Half-timbered architecture and history

Around thirty half-timbered buildings have been preserved in Łącko; they were built from the mid-19th century onwards. Half-timbering is a construction method using a timber frame with infill panels. This draws attention not only to individual buildings but also to the shape of the village.

The Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary provides a much earlier historical reference point. It is Gothic, was built in the 13th century and remodelled in 1607. A self-service bicycle repair station has been installed on the shore of Lake Wicko in Łącko. The beach recreation area includes a designated fire pit; a wooden recreation pavilion and park hammocks have also been installed there, and the footpaths have been surfaced with natural gravel. The facilities offer different features: the repair station is geared towards cycling, while the pavilion, hammocks, paths and fire pit provide other elements of the recreation area. There are also two different vantage points for views of the lake. On the R10 route towards Łącko, a view of Lake Wicko opens up to the left of the route. When you arrive in Łącko, you can turn left and take in the lake from another vantage point. This distinguishes the view along the R10 from an additional panoramic view on arrival.
