Church, Chapel and Traces of the Town Fortifications

The parish church dates back to the 14th century. Przeworsk is also home to the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre, a faithful replica of the chapel in Jerusalem. The two buildings offer different points of interest: the parish church represents the town’s long ecclesiastical history, while the chapel stands out for its explicitly named Jerusalem model. Together, they invite you to appreciate religious architecture through its specific history and form.

Traces of the town fortifications can also be seen outside these buildings. Remains can be found along Kazimierzowska, Kilińskiego, Tkacka, Słowackiego and św. Palace Complex and Museum

The Lubomirski palace and park complex encompasses more than just the palace. It includes palace outbuildings, an orangery, the stable master’s house, a coach house, a stable, a gatehouse, gates with perimeter fencing, a gardener’s house, the estate manager’s house and a cowshed. The buildings are scattered throughout the park. The character of the complex is shaped not by one building alone, but by the interplay of its different parts.

A museum with several departments has been housed there since 1975. Its exhibition on the history of the town and region presents the centuries-old history, traditions and material culture of Przeworsk and its surroundings. A department devoted to the history of firefighting is located in the former coach houses. The site thus combines the historic building complex with an insight into regional history and a distinct area of the museum’s work. Walks and a Ride on the Narrow-Gauge Railway

The approximately 12-hectare park surrounding the palace residence offers a way to experience the complex beyond its buildings. In the naturally landscaped upper park, a lime-tree avenue shapes the walk. If you would like to spend some time outdoors during a cultural and historical stay, you can experience the architecture and parkland as different sides of the same place.

Another way to spend your time here is to take the “Pogórzanin” narrow-gauge railway from Przeworsk to Dynów. This offers a different focus from the churches, museum and park: instead of exploring individual buildings in town, visitors take the train towards Dynów. Check the railway’s current operating days before your trip.
