Bystra: Discover hiking trails and regional culture
Accommodation in Bystra
Bystra brings together two hiking destinations, regional art, and an exhibition on the former furnishings of a Beskid house. The trails lead to Klimczok or Szyndzielnia; the cultural attractions offer a different focus. When planning your trip, you can combine active outings with visits to cultural venues and tailor your stay to your interests.
Compare hiking trails and destinations
Both hiking trails start in Bystra at “Pod Źródłem,” but lead to different destinations. The blue-and-black trail leads to Klimczok and takes about two hours and 25 minutes. The green-and-yellow trail goes via Kołowrót to Szyndzielnia; it is listed as taking about two hours. The difference between the approximate times is around 25 minutes. The Szyndzielnia route therefore has the shorter estimated time. These times can help you make a rough comparison, but they are not a minute-by-minute schedule. The destination is also a separate factor to consider: Kołowrót is on the route to Szyndzielnia. Choose your route based on both your destination and the approximate time required.
Regional culture in Bystra
The Izba Regionalna “Stara Stolarnia” is located at GOK “Promyk” in Bystra, ul. Juliana Fałata 2G. It presents exhibits from the furnishings of a former Beskid house, as well as former farming implements. The Gallery of Regional Art in Bystra displays sculptures and reverse-glass paintings by artists from Bystra. Reverse-glass painting is a technique in which the image is created on the back of the glass; alongside it, the sculptures offer a different artistic medium. If you choose to include culture in your trip, you can distinguish between former household and farming objects at the Izba and artworks by artists from Bystra at the gallery. Check the visiting arrangements with the Izba before your visit.
Museum, July offer, and bus
Fałatówka – Muzeum Juliana Fałata is located at ul. Juliana Fałata 34 in Bystra. Check the opening hours before including the museum in your plans. In July, visitors to Bystra can sample regional dishes and ride the Ciuchcia Beskidzka. The specific program may vary, so check the dates for your travel period before making firm plans to take part.
The Bystra “Pod Źródłem” bus stop is served by MZK Bielsko-Biała bus line 57. As timetables may change, check the latest departures before travelling. “Pod Źródłem” is both the starting point for the two hiking trails and the name of the bus stop served by line 57; the shared name makes it easier to bring the bus and hiking information together when planning.
