Castle and museum

Bytów Castle was built between 1398 and 1405 on a rectangular plan. Its inclusion in the Route of Gothic Castles established in northern Poland also makes it a notable subject for anyone interested in historic buildings. The rectangular plan is a specific architectural feature of the complex; the construction dates place its construction in the late 14th and early 15th centuries.

The West Kashubian Museum is located in the north wing of the castle. It presents ethnographic collections as well as temporary exhibitions of contemporary painting, photography and folk art.
