History

In July 1410, Polish troops crossed the Vistula near Czerwińsk over a specially constructed bridge as they assembled before the Battle of Grunwald.

The monastery houses a small museum with ethnographic collections assembled by missionaries. The adjacent bell tower is known as the Gate of Abbot Kula and dates from the 15th century.

The history of the monastery is connected with political and religious events from the 12th to the 15th century, including visits by Polish rulers and high-ranking church officials.
