A branch of the Green Velo cycling route passes through Borsuki; at the southern edge of the village stand a wrought-metal cross and a wooden chapel. Hiking trails and natural attractions in the surrounding area also offer useful starting points for planning your trip. It helps to distinguish clearly between them: some cultural landmarks are on the edge of the village, while the viewpoint and landscape areas are separate points of interest in the surrounding area.

Cycling and hiking on routes with different points of reference

The Green Velo branch passes through Borsuki. The Nadbużański Szlak Pieszy takes a different route: in the route description, it is marked in red and starts in Kózki. From there, it follows the river upstream through Mierzwice and Serpelice to Borsuki. This distinction is useful when planning a trip: Borsuki lies along the cycling route, while it is the destination on the hiking route. Another hiking route is called ā€œKózki, PKS – Borsukiā€.

Cultural landmarks on the southern edge of the village

The wrought-metal cross stands on a stone base. Its Cyrillic inscription commemorates the 50th anniversary of the abolition of serfdom on February 17, 1911. It thus records a specific historical event and an exact commemorative date.

A wooden chapel from the first half of the 20th century is also located on the southern edge of the village. Inside is a figure of the Virgin Mary. Next to the chapel stands a wooden cross set within an enclosure of fieldstones. These features highlight different aspects: the commemorative inscription is central to the metal cross, while the chapel is defined by its period of construction and the figure of Mary. Together, these cultural landmarks offer different ways to explore the history of the village.

Landscape in the surrounding area

The ā€œza Borsukamiā€ viewpoint lies between the villages of Borsuki and Gnojno. It is a natural terrace on a sandy escarpment about 30 metres high above the Bug River, within the Nadbużański Landscape Park. Its location between two villages places the viewpoint in the area surrounding the destination and distinguishes it from the cultural landmarks on the southern edge of the village.

In the area of Mierzwice and Zabuże, Uroczysko Trojan encompasses extensive meadows, oxbow lakes of the Bug, and natural woodland. One notable feature of this landscape is the permanent connection between Lake Trojan and the Bug. This describes both the open spaces and woodland, as well as the lake’s specific connection to the river.

The ā€œTrojanā€ nature trail in the area of Mierzwice and Zabuże is a marked route with six educational stations. For visitors who want to learn about nature as well as follow the trail, it offers a specific educational focus. This sets it apart from routes whose main point of reference is their course between several places. Taken together, route alignments, educational stations, and landscape features offer different themes to guide your travel planning.
