Okuninka on Lake Białe is a popular holiday resort; across the country, it is also known by the nicknames “Polish Ibiza” and “Pearl of the Lublin Region.” During the summer holidays, several tens of thousands of holidaymakers and tourists may be in the town at the same time. This is an approximate seasonal scale, not a forecast for individual days. It shows the role the holiday season plays in the character of the town.
Swimming and activities on the lake
There are three municipal bathing areas on Lake Białe, supervised during the summer season. If swimming is important to your trip planning, this seasonal information offers a concrete point of reference. Kayaks, pedal boats and SUP boards are available to rent in the centre of Okuninka for activities on the lake; the announcement refers to the 2026 season. Check the latest dates if you plan to make a rental part of your itinerary. Diving equipment is also available for rent in the vicinity of Lake Białe.
Activities for children include inflatable water parks. Alongside the bathing areas and seasonal options on the water, there are also other activities to consider. The best way to decide which ones suit your stay is to take your planned travel dates and interests into account.
Two cycling routes with different features
The “Stykiem granic” cycling route passes through Okuninka, the Sobiborski Landscape Park, the Jezioro Orchowe nature reserve and Dubnik at the Poland–Ukraine–Belarus tripoint. The route, marked in red, is 26 km long and follows the Bug River. Along the way, it features twelve information boards, rest shelters and an observation tower.
A 32 km section of cycling route marked in yellow connects Okuninka with Wola Uhruska; the route opened in the summer of 2001. You can start by comparing the two routes by length and the features described: the 26 km route has a described course and facilities, while the 32 km section connects the two towns. It is a good idea to check the current route conditions before setting out.
Local information and other activities
The tourist information office is in the centre of the resort, by the main beach. There you can get free travel guides, maps and brochures about the Lublin Region, as well as materials for purchase. The tourist information office also rents out bicycles, which you can return at either of two locations in Włodawa: the tourist information office at ul. Partyzantów 25 or MOSiR at ul. Szkolna 4. If you plan to rent a bicycle, check the current opening hours in advance.
Away from the lake, a leisure park’s main attraction is a 2 ha maze. After making your way through it and finding the complete map, you can take part in free activities: shooting with a plush slingshot, a bow or a paintball gun. The 2026 season opening was announced for 12 July; access is seasonal.
Paintball is also available in Okuninka: there are three fields, a game lasts two hours, and booking by phone is requested. The duration helps you fit this activity into your daily schedule.
