Culture
The first Bernardine monastery and the first Bernardine church in Warta were founded in 1467. A new brick Bernardine monastery complex was built in Warta between 1482 and 1497 in the Gothic style. The Bernardine monastery complex is currently used by members of the religious order and is accessible year-round; visits are possible by telephone appointment or between religious services.
The parish church of St. Nicholas was built around 1340. It is located in the center of Warta, near the southwestern corner of the market square. The Gothic church received a redesigned interior in the 17th century.
Trails
The green hiking trail “im. Władysława Reymonta” runs via Duszniki to the market square in Warta. The blue hiking trail “walk nad Wartą” begins at the museum in Warta and continues to the bridge over the Warta.
The red “Łódzka Magistrala Rowerowa”, which is also an international west–east cycling route, runs from Głaniszew to Warta and onward toward Pierzchnia Góra. Górka Cmentarna offers a view of the town of Warta and the river valley.
Water
Near Warta lies the Jeziorsko Reservoir between Skęczniew and Warta, on the border between the Łódź Voivodeship and Greater Poland. In Ostrów Warcki, there is a beach area, pedal boats, and two water-ski lifts.
“Kąpielisko przy ul. płk. M.A. Tarnowskiego” is a bathing site in Warta with a 50-meter-long shoreline. It has a designated bathing zone in the water, as well as a beach area for recreation and sports.
For the 2026 bathing season, “Kąpielisko przy ul. M.Z. Tarnowskiego” in Warta is open or scheduled to be open from June 27 to August 31.
The Warta canoeing trail includes a 17 km section from Sieradz to Warta. From Warta, the canoeing trail continues for another 21 km to Księże Młyny.
