Churches and Historic Buildings

The Parish Church of Our Lady and Saint Leonard in Pajęczno is a Baroque Marian shrine dating from the 18th century. An image of Our Lady of Graces is displayed in a carved altar. The church was entered in the register of immovable monuments under number 249 on 30.08.1967. The church rectory also dates from the 18th century. Together, these architectural and decorative details provide a tangible connection to the town's religious history.

Another church is the Parish Church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle in Makowiska. Its entry in the monument register also covers the churchyard enclosure and the church grounds within it. It was entered under registration number A/366 on 01.12.2017. Those interested in church architecture can thus find a separate historic landmark in Makowiska, in addition to the parish church in Pajęczno.

Several single-storey limestone houses have been preserved on Pajęczno's former market square. They were built at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries and offer a different view of the town's older architecture alongside its religious buildings. Pajęczno is also home to a lime tree several centuries old. Its trunk circumference is 7 metres and its height is 8 metres—two measurements that describe this tree as a distinctive landmark.

Park and Water

Park 1000-lecia is one of the distinctive features of the Gmina Pajęczno. The Matusowiec water basin is in the park; Lake Matusowiec is located in Pajęczno. The park and water add a natural focal point to the historic buildings. If you would like to include places connected with water and greenery in your trip, alongside churches and older houses, these are among the landmarks to look out for in Pajęczno.
