Borowa: Hotels and accommodations

Borowa was founded as the colony of Wilhelmswalde in 1799, after a hurricane devastated a large forest area south of Gałków. A surviving plan shows a classic linear village settlement: residential houses stood on both sides of a long, perfectly straight street, with their gables facing the street.

History

The Protestant cemetery in Borowa was established in the first half of the 19th century. It contains boulders with inscriptions commemorating the soldiers who fell in 1914. During the interwar period, the remains of German soldiers who had fallen in 1914 were transferred from individual graves to the Protestant cemetery in Borowa. The cemetery is not fenced and is covered with tall-growing vegetation and a dense, well-developed shrub layer.

Landscape

Aquatic, marsh and meadow plant communities grow along the Miazga and other streams and ditches in Borowa. Las Gałkowski stretches between Borowa, Zielona Góra and Justynów.

Activities

The Borowa area is suitable for cycling. Section 09 Przanowice–Tuszyn (Młynek) is part of the 356-kilometre inner loop of the Łódzki Szlak Konny named after Maj. Henryk Dobrzański “Hubal”.

The Borowa – Zielony Konik riding stable is located on the Łódzki Szlak Konny at the edge of Las Gałkowski. It offers hippotherapy and organises training workshops and activities for all age groups. There are equestrian centres in Borowa in the immediate vicinity of the riding trails.

The Fox riding stable is located by the Gałków nature reserve; horseback rides and walks are possible there. The grounds of the Fox riding stable contain reed-covered ponds where visitors can rest.
