Odolanów – Churches, Museum and City History
Accommodation in Odolanów
Odolanów can be explored through several specific points of interest: churches dating from the late 18th century, a neo-Gothic town hall, a Regional Museum with clearly defined areas of focus, and landmarks that stand out in the townscape. This gives you a choice between architectural history, local memory and outdoor activities when planning your visit. If you are looking for a hotel in Odolanów, first consider which of these themes you want to shape your stay; this will help you organise other ideas for things to see more purposefully.

Churches and architectural history
St Martin’s Church was built between 1790 and 1794. Fragments of carvings from destroyed crosses have been preserved inside. The wooden Church of St Barbara in Odolanów-Górka dates from 1784 and is located in the cemetery on ul. Spokojna. If you plan to visit the interior, check access locally beforehand. The town hall was built in 1898–1899 in the neo-Gothic style. The construction dates allow for a direct comparison: two churches date from the late 18th century, while the neo-Gothic town hall dates from the end of the 19th century. Those who consider architecture and city history together can use this chronological sequence as a thread for choosing what to see.
Another historical point of interest is the former Protestant church, which is listed in the register of monuments. A revitalisation project envisaged converting the building from religious to cultural use.
Regional Museum and local history
The Regional Museum’s permanent exhibition is devoted entirely to the events of the Greater Poland Uprising. The museum also has an extensive ethnographic section featuring significant works by Paweł Bryliński, a folk sculptor of the 19th century. The history of the uprising and the ethnographic collection thus come together under one roof; the latter also names a specific 19th-century artist, Bryliński. Check the exhibition details before your trip.
Landmarks in the townscape
At the edge of town stands the water tower, built in 1903. It is 28 metres high from the ground to the roof cupola. Park 600-lecia stretches along Kaliska Street in Odolanów; a monument to St Martin stands above the park. The water tower is notable for its construction date and height, while the park is defined by its location along the street and the monument: two different ways to explore the townscape through individual landmarks.
Walking, cycling route and outdoor activities
A walk through Odolanów offers insights into the town’s secrets and tells you who its most famous resident was and what made him well known. Check in advance whether the tour is available during your visit. For cyclists, the orange-marked “Dolina Baryczy” cycling route, with its Odolanów–Grabownica section, is a specific reference point for planning a ride. The Dolina Baryczy Landscape Park covers 5,400 hectares within the municipality of Odolanów. The walking and cycling options therefore complement visits to the town’s buildings with other ways to explore Odolanów. Odolanów also has a high ropes park; check the current opening times before visiting.
This way, you can match your choice of location to your own plans.
