Culture and history

The wooden parish church of Saint Andrew the Apostle in Mąkolno dates from 1749 to 1750. The wooden Chapel of Saint Jerome “Na Puszczy” in Sompolno was built in 1732. The parish church of Saint Hedwig in Lubstów was built as a brick church in 1534. The wooden Church of Saint Matthew the Apostle in Lubstówek was built in 1639.

During the indulgence celebrations “Na Puszczy,” the chapel is occasionally open to visitors on the last Sunday in September.

Nature and landscape

Lake Lubstowskie covers an area of 85 hectares and is 7 meters deep. The recreational area at Lake Lubstowskie features a wooden pier, a covered shelter, and a sand volleyball court.

Most of the Sompolno municipality, outside the brown coal mining areas, forms a protected landscape area. Marcinkowo is mentioned in connection with the Goplańsko-Kujawski Protected Landscape Area.
