Culture and History

The parish in Grodziec was founded in the 16th century. The present-day parish church of St. Wojciech was built between 1893 and 1900 and consecrated in 1901. It is a brick Gothic Revival building and is included in both the register of historic monuments and the inventory of historic monuments.

The palace and park complex includes a landscape park with traces of a formal layout from the 18th century.

The pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) “Anna” stands in Grodziec on Parkowa Street. The “Kwileckich” hornbeam avenue (Carpinus betulus L.) is located on plot no. 366 in the northern part of the park in Grodziec.

The Forestry Education Center in Grodziec has a hall with taxidermied animals, a model of a lignite mine, and a hut where a forester tells stories. There is also a treetop walkway and a platform 8 meters above the ground with a telescope, from which animals in the forest enclosure can be observed. The Forestry Education Center is open for visits year-round.
