Architectural History in Margonin

The late Baroque parish church in Margonin Municipality, dedicated to Saint Adalbert, dates from the early 18th century and was remodelled between 1753 and 1755. The three-aisled hall church features Rococo confessionals, an altar and a pulpit. Its design and furnishings give the church a distinct architectural character.

The neo-Gothic palace of the von Schwichow family was built between 1842 and 1852 on the site of the former Skórzewski family residence. The park at Margonin Palace was laid out earlier: Fryderyk Skórzewski had it created in 1788. These dates place the park and palace in different periods of the town’s history. Together with the older parish church, they offer a varied view of Margonin’s architectural history without assigning the same date to each historic site.
