In one of the largest centers of summer vacations in Poland, the town of Giżycko, a new hotel will be opened in the near future. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is located in the old castle. Although the full opening will take place only in September, the first guests can visit the hotel in the mid-summer. The hotel is named after St. Bruno of Querfurt, who is the patron saint of Giżycko. The hotel will offer its future clients 70 comfortable rooms. In addition, St. Bruno hotel will house an elegant restaurant with winter garden, spa-center, fitness and gym facilities, as well as nightclub and bowling alley. According to John Karacewski, the owner of the hotel, the hotel will gain 4 or 5-star category. A small feature of the new hotel is that although it is located in the Teutonic castle and has appropriate interior, the rooms will be furnished in the style of 20-es of the last century.
Built in the XIV century on the shores of the Lake Niegocin (here in 1009 pagans killed St. Bruno), the ancient castle until recently was in dilapidated condition. But in 2009 it was purchased by John Karacewski. With old photographs and detailed description of the castle he scrupulously restored the exterior of the castle. During the restoration of the building were found a lot of old things, which will be exhibited for the guests of St. Bruno hotel.
Gizycko is located on a narrow isthmus between the lakes Niegocin and Kisajno. This is a real "land of thousand lakes" as around the city are located more than 100 small amazingly beautiful waters. The nature and architectural monuments of Giżycko attract so many tourists that the city is often called the summer capital of Poland.
