Claudia Cardinale participated in Philips Cinema Mundi Film Festival in Lodz

One of the largest film festivals in Poland, Philips Cinema Mundi Festival, was held in Lodz. One of the honored guests of the festival was a famous Italian actress, an icon of the modern cinema - Claudia Cardinale.
Philips Cinema Mundi annual film festival in Lodz is dedicated to the brightest personality and named after the famous film critic Zygmunt Kałużyński, known for his provocative views and being an icon of the Polish cinema for decades.
Within three days of the festival guests of Lodz were presented 40 non-English speaking films, awarded by nominations and prestigious awards in 2010, including Oscar, Golden Globe, and others. At the Philips Cinema Mundi festival in addition to Poland its films have presented Romania, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Colombia, Canada, Chile, Greenland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Sweden, Netherlands, Russia, Austria, Finland, Iraq, Turkey, Thailand, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Denmark, France, Germany, Luxembourg, China, Slovakia, Belgium and Tunisia.
Special guest of the Philips Cinema Mundi festival has become one of the brightest stars of the world cinema, the famous Italian actress Claudia Cardinale. The last film with the participation of Italian star opened Philips Cinema Mundi festival on April 1, 2011.
The solemn ceremony with participation of Claudia Cardinale in honor of opening the memorial plaque of Zygmunt Kałużyński was held in by Lodz Bałtyk Cinema. Also, famous Italian actress visited the film school in Lodz, where she met with students and fans.
In addition to film screenings and workshops at the Philips Cinema Mundi festival was celebrated the 73th birthday of Claudia Cardinale. The party was held on April 2 in MS Cafe.
Closing ceremony of the Philips Cinema Mundi in Lodz took place on April 3.
